If you have a MP3 that is large in size & a cue file, your probably wishing it was all in individual mp3s or your like what do I do with this? Well in this guide I will show you how to turn that big MP3 file into individual tracks!
Whats a cue file?
A cue sheet, or cue file, is a metadata file which describes how the tracks of a CD or DVD are laid out. Cue sheets are stored as plain text files and commonly have a “.cue” filename extension. CDRWIN first introduced cue sheets, which are now supported by many optical disc authoring applications and media players.
For an audio CD, a cue sheet specifies titles and performers for the disc and its tracks as well as the names of one or more audio files to be used. MP3, WAV and BIN files are often used, although some programs support other formats. Cue sheets are especially useful when burning or listening to live sets where all tracks are recorded in one file.
Cue sheets are also used for many types of CDs in conjunction with an image file. The image file generally has a “.bin” extension.
Software Needed:
This program will allow you to cut that MP3 into individual tracks with title, name, album track # and more! All for Free!
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install MP3Directcut & run it.
2. Drag the CUE file into MP3Directcut. It should show all the individual tracks. If for some reason you get an error, the cue file may not be matched up with mp3 file, in video I show how to fix it in notepad.
3. Click on file, save split. Type in the variable you want such as track number, track title, & artist. Those are the 3 main ones I use.
4. I create a folder to hold the split tracks, I usually make the folder name the album name.
5. Now in MP3Directcut select the folder where you want to extract the individual tracks & click OK.
6. If you get a warning for re-sync don’t worry it just means the header / frame information went awry, just make sure you play back all tracks & that they work properly.
7. Now put the tracks on your mp3 player or burn to cd & enjoy your music!
