How do I change my default browser? Is there a quick and easy way to change my default browser? This video tutorial answers those questions and with a freeware tool called Default Browser by Ramesh we will be able to do this faster than any other method!

The most common way people set their default browser is to select it in the browser of their choice under the options menu.

This process doesn’t work to set all windows applications that open web pages to use the browser you choose. In this case we use a freeware tool easily called Default Browser, created by Ramesh.

This no nonsense small resourceful tool will make any browser on your computer the default as long as you know where its installed if its not one of the most popular browsers listed below like:

  1. Internet Explorer
  2. Mozilla Firefox
  3. Opera
  4. Maxthon
  5. Avant browser

Default Browser is a self contained program, meaning it does not require installation to use it, which is always a big bonus for me! Lets proceed to the instructions and then video tutorial!

What Is A Web Browser?
Web browsers are basically software programs that allow you to search for and view various kinds of information on the Web, such as web sites, video, audio, etc.

It enables a user to display and interact with text, images, videos, music, games and other information typically located on a Web page at a website on the World Wide Web or a local area network. Text and images on a Web page can contain hyperlinks to other Web pages at the same or different website. Web browsers allow a user to quickly and easily access information provided on many Web pages at many websites by traversing these links. Web browsers format HTML information for display, so the appearance of a Web page may differ between browsers.

Some of the Web browsers currently available for personal computers include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Netscape, Opera, Avant Browser, Konqueror, Google Chrome, Flock, Arachne, Epiphany, and K-Meleon.

Web browsers are the most commonly used type of HTTP user agent. Although browsers are typically used to access the World Wide Web, they can also be used to access information provided by Web servers in private networks or content in file systems.
