More information:

About Adventure Game Studio

Adventure Game Studio allows you to create your own point-and-click adventure games, similar to the early 90’s Sierra and Lucas Arts adventures. It consists of an easy-to-use editor to create your games, and a run-time engine to play them.

The game interface is fully customizable, with classic Sierra and Verb Coin templates provided by default. Adventure Game Studio manages most of the game so that you don’t have to - it does all the donkey work like load/save game functions, path finding and scrolling rooms so that you can concentrate on the parts of your game that make it unique.

Set up your rooms, characters and sprites visually in the editor, then add some script to handle game events and you’re done! You can even create a standalone EXE file containing your entire game, which you can then distribute to your adoring fans worldwide.

So, how much does it cost? Nothing. That’s right, Adventure Game Studio is free, and you can even create commercial games with it (subject to license terms).

Want to play games made with Adventure Game Studio?

Head on over to the Games page and try some out, or check out the showcase links on the right of our website.

Want to make games with Adventure Game Studio?

Before you start, bear in mind that Adventure Game Studio is not for everyone. In order to make your game respond to the player’s input, you’ll need to learn the scripting language. While we try to make this as easy as possible, some people will always find themselves more suited to scripting than others. Don’t be discouraged, just don’t expect to make the best game ever in your first few weeks!

Easily Remove the 83.149.75.33 Trojan.Vundo Browser Hijack Virus infecting your computer with this step by step video guide I created while I was infected.

Your probably wondering that I have been getting back to back viruses since I had a previous virus / spyware removal video "Desktop Tab Missing? How To Restore Display Properties And Missing Desktop Tabs Instantly!" LOL, but 2 viruses in 8 years is not bad LMAO. I should have known better than to give Internet Explorer some heavy use lately without added protection

Are you getting popups in Firefox, Internet Explorer and any other browser you use going to a page that looks similar to "http://83.149.75.33/info.png?"

Click here to go straight to how to remove the 83.149.75.33 Trojan.Vundo virus with free programs.

Do you receive constant pop-ups during internet activity, your system resources grinding to a halt, Windows Explorer crashing, Buffer overruns detected? The bombardment of 83.149.75.33 attacking your browsers!?!?!?!

Latest Webroot, Symantec, & even my favorite Zone Alarm Suite(although it detected the virus and quarantined some of it) antivirus and spyware utilities seem to do nothing to fix this 83.149.75.33 Trojan.Vundo problem??

Even online scanners such as Kaspersky Online Scanner and Trend Micro’s FREE online virus scanner, are unable to scan and clean this 83.149.75.33 Trojan.Vundo problem?!?!

Well… you are not alone! I too got infected with this virus / malware / spyware that I only knew as 83.149.75.33 due to it being the URL that constantly loads up. Later I found out that it was also more popularly known as the Trojan.Vundo virus. I researched all over from various websites and forums and took all the advice I seen with a sprinkle of my own knowledge and then cooked up this recipe to remove this 83.149.75.33 Trojan.Vundo virus.

Basically what your going to see is real-time(and video editing) of me fixing this problem from start to finish. This will show you how you can get rid of the 83.149.75.33 Trojan.Vundo virus once and for all!

Lets kick some virus butt shall we? LMAO Please leave feedback if this has helped you, thanks

INSTRUCTIONS

If you have a virus / anti-spyware program on your computer do a scan right away!

If you don’t have it, get the "free" CCleaner, close
all browsers and programs. Install CCleaner, then run it. Make sure Ccleaner is displaying its "windows" tab, then click near bottom that says "run cleaner." When done cleaning close it.

We are now going to get the infamous and "free" HijackThis and save it to your desktop. Install HijackThis. Do a system scan and follow the rest of the onscreen instructions I show you including how to find out if certain files are suspicious in HijackThis.

Next up we are going to get the "free" program "Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware" and save it to desktop. Install it and do a quick scan. Follow the rest of my onscreen instructions using this program.

Restart your computer and browse with ease!

Whew, wasn’t that a lot of work? LOL

More information:

What Is The Vundo Trojan / Virus aka Trojan.Vundo?

Vundo, or the Vundo Trojan (also known as Virtumonde or Virtumondo and sometimes referred to as MS Juan & Trojan.Vundo) is a Trojan horse that is known to cause popups and advertising for rogue antispyware programs, and sporadically other misbehavior including performance degradation and denial of service with some websites including Google.

The most obvious sign of infection are the pop ups. Vundo will cause the infected web browser to pop up advertisements; many of which claim a need for software to fix system "deterioration". The user’s desktop background is changed to the image of an installation window saying there is adware on the computer. The screensaver is also changed to the Blue Screen. When the user tries to change the background and screensaver back to their original by going to the Display Properties, the background and screensaver tabs are missing because their "Hide" values in the Registry were changed to 1. Both the background and screensaver are in the System32 folder, however the screensaver cannot be deleted. Windows automatic updates may also be disabled and it is not possible to turn them back on

Infected DLLs (with randomized names such as "__c00369AB.dat") will be present in the Windows/System32 folder and references to the DLLs will be found in the user’s start up (viewable in MSConfig), registry, and as browser add ons in Internet Explorer.

Depending on the version of the virus the following symptoms may or may not be present:

Vundo may attempt to prevent the user from removing it or otherwise impede its operation, such as by disabling the task manager or Windows registry editor. Some firewalls or antivirus softwares may also be disabled by the virus leaving the system even more vulnerable. Another symptom of Vundo may be the desktop icons will disappear and so will the taskbar and reappear after a short period. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to run programs or get access to your files as the process gets automatically aborted.

Web access may also be negatively affected. Vundo may cause many websites to be unaccessible; these websites may just hang. The hard drive may start to be constantly accessed by the winlogon process, thus periodic freezes may be experienced.

Symptoms may also include the disabling of Windows Automatic Updates or other web-based services.

Desktop Tab Missing? I will show you how to fix and restore display properties of missing desktop tabs!

Does this sound like a problem you have? “I had some spyware on my comp, and cleaned with anti spyware and virus scanners but I cant change my background wallpaper. When I go to display settings, all I have is screen saver and settings tabs, the others are not there. Can anyone help me get my other tabs back?”

Well I had a similar experience. I was on one of my new workstations when I noticed my desktop tab missing from display properties and I could no longer change the wallpaper.

Opening my desktop properties by right clicking the desktop I noticed the desktop tab is missing from the display properties so I did a bit of research and trial and error and came to a solution that should help thousands of people out. To restore your desktop display settings and restore the desktop tabs missing just follow along with my instructions below.

Please leave feedback if this has helped you, thanks

What Should I do to Protect My Computer?

Regularly make sure your operating system and software applications have all critical updates and security fixes.

Under no circumstances should you ever open an unexpected or suspicious looking email attachment even if it appears to be from someone you know.

Use a good firewall to manage the activity between your computer and the internet. I personally use Zone Alarm.

You should also have an antivirus program, Zone Alarm Suite comes with one built in. There is a free antivirus called AVG as well. Which ever anti-virus software you use make sure it is set it up to check for the latest anti-virus updates (sometimes called definitions) on a regular basis.

You also should guard against spyware or malware. This is software which can come bundled with other products, install without your knowledge and be a drain on your system’s resources. Useful tools in this area include: Ad-Aware and Spybot.

Password protected PDF files:

PDFMENOT isn’t designed to view encrypted PDF files.

Whats a PDF?:
Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format created by Adobe Systems in 1993 for document exchange. PDF is used for representing two-dimensional documents in a manner independent of the application software, hardware, and operating system.

PDF viewing software is generally free with Adobe Reader as well as Foxit which is the most popular.

There are many software options for creating PDFs, including the PDF printing capabilities built in to Mac OS X and some versions of Linux, the multi-platform OpenOffice.org, Microsoft Office 2007 (via a Microsoft-produced add-on), Wordperfect since version 9, numerous PDF print drivers for Microsoft Windows, the pdfTeX typesetting system, the DocBook PDF tools, applications devloped around Ghostscript and Adobe Acrobat itself.

There is also specialized software for editing PDF files, though the choices are much more limited and often expensive. Adobe Acrobat Professional is one example of software that allows the user to annotate (highlight, add notes to) already created PDF files. A free one is PDFedit. As of version 0.46, Inkscape also allows PDF editing through an intermediate translation step involving poppler.

Several applications embracing the PDF standard are now available as an online service including Scribd for viewing and storing, Pdfvue for online editing, and Zamzar for PDF Conversion.

AGFA introduced and shipped Apogee, the first prepress workflow system based on PDF, in 1997.

PDF was selected as the “native” metafile format for Mac OS X, replacing the PICT format of the earlier Mac OS. The imaging model of the Quartz graphics layer is based on the model common to Display PostScript and PDF, leading to the nickname “Display PDF”. The Preview application can display PDF files, as can version 2.0 and later of the Safari web browser. System-level support for PDF allows Mac OS X applications to create PDF documents automatically, provided they support the Print command. When taking a screenshot under Mac OS X versions 10.0 through 10.3, the image was also captured as a PDF; in 10.4 and 10.5 the default behaviour is set to capture as a PNG file, though this behaviour can be set back to PDF if required.

Some printers also support direct PDF printing, which can interpret PDF data without external help. Currently, all PDF capable printers also support PostScript, but most PostScript printers do not support direct PDF printing.

The Free Software Foundation previously considered one of their high priority projects to be “developing a free, high-quality and fully functional set of libraries and programs that implement the PDF file format and associated technologies to the coming ISO standard, ISO 32000.” The GNUpdf library has, however, not been released, while Poppler has enjoyed wider use in applications such as Evince, which comes with the GNOME desktop environment.

Want to know the best way to manage, edit and email digital photos? View this video guide and work with your digital photos with ease!

There are a lot of people out there who have a digital camera and once they put their digital photos on their computer they really don’t know how to manage, resize, or even send them over email.

I have had countless friends and family who send me digital photos in their high mega pixel glory, and that’s the ones who know how to compress them via a file archiver like Winzip, Winrar or7zip!

Others say they have tried to send me digital photos but it failed to send, they were unaware that their email provider has a limit on the size Of the files they can send per email.

In this video tutorial I will show you how to use two free programs to make managing our digital photos easy and effective.

The first program is FastStone Image Viewer which is created by FastStone Soft. In my opinion, it is the best free digital photo editor and viewer. Its low resource and has a wealth of tools for you to use to be a professional in managing your digital photos!

The second freeware program is 7-zip. It’s an open source file archiver, it’s a small powerful compression tool that can open a variety of formats such as ZIP and RAR.

Some things we will learn in this video guide:

We can do things like batch resize photos and also see how much the digital photos have been reduced in size!

We can even make our digital photos into wallpapers! How cool is that?! This is a thing most people have requested on how to do with their digital photos and now you’ll be able to do it in no time.

Also in this video I will show you the best way to organize your digital photos. I use a date – description format, so that when viewing the folders this way, alphabetized, I will always know when my digital photos were taken plus with the short description I will know instantly what kind of photos I took. Its just not productive to dump all your digital photos into a folder over time and just leave them there.

We also learn how to compress our images in a freeware archive program called “7-zip” so we can email our digital photos with ease. We will keep our archive file under 10 MB, since that’s the limit most free email providers provide.

Finally I will show a demonstration of emailing digital photos via Yahoo Email! One of the most popular email providers that most people use to send digital photos.

Ready To learn?!?! Lets GO!!!!!!!

Downloads Needed:

FastStone Image Viewer

7-zip

INSTRUCTIONS

Download, install, and run FastStone Image Viewer.

Copy your digital photos from your digital camera to a folder or open a folder with existing digital photos on your computer for us to work with. We will now go to that folder using FastStone Image Viewer.

Watch the video for how to maneuver through FastStone Image Viewer.

We will download, install, and run 7-zip to compress our digital photos.

I will finally show an example of emailing photos by adding an attachment via Yahoo Email.

Words From 7-Zip Creator Igor Pavlov:
7Zip is an open-source file archiver, that offers a the highest compression ratio, using the new f 7z format, which delivers compression results that are usually 30-50% better than standard ZIP. We tested it with a server log file, which compressed with ZIP had a file size of 18 mb and using 7-Zip was reduced to 8 mb (results may vary, depending on file type). In addition, 7Zip also supports 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB formats, so it can be used with all popular archive files as well. The program offers a basic file explorer interface and also integrates into the Windows right-click menu. It can be associated with any of the supported formats and also offers command line support. Interface and additional features are fairly basic, but the compression ratio is outstanding.

System Requirements:
Works on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003, and Microsoft
Windows Vista.

What Is A Digital Camera?
A digital camera (or digicam for short) is a camera that takes video or still photographs, or both, digitally by recording images on a light-sensitive sensor.

Compact cameras are designed to be small and portable; the smallest are described as subcompacts or “ultra-compacts”. Compact cameras are usually designed to be easy to use, sacrificing advanced features and picture quality for compactness and simplicity; images can usually only be stored using Lossy compression (JPEG). Most have a built-in flash usually of low power, sufficient for nearby subjects. Live preview is almost always used to frame the photo. They may have limited motion picture capability. Compacts often have macro capability, but if they have zoom capability the range is usually less than for bridge and DSLR cameras. They have a greater depth of field, allowing objects within a large range of distances from the camera to be in sharp focus. They are particularly suitable for casual and “snapshot” use.

Many compact digital still cameras can record sound and moving video as well as still photograph.

Mega Pixel And Resolution: The resolution of a digital camera is often limited by the camera sensor (typically a CCD or CMOS sensor chip) that turns light into discrete signals, replacing the job of film in traditional photography. The sensor is made up of millions of “buckets” that essentially count the number of photons that strike the sensor. This means that the brighter the image at that point the larger of a value that is read for that pixel. Depending on the physical structure of the sensor a color filter array may be used which requires a demosaicing/interpolation algorithm. The number of resulting pixels in the image determines its “pixel count”. For example, a 640×480 image would have 307,200 pixels, or approximately 307 kilopixels; a 3872×2592 image would have 10,036,224 pixels, or approximately 10 megapixels.

The pixel count alone is commonly presumed to indicate the resolution of a camera, but this is a misconception. There are several other factors that impact a sensor’s resolution. Some of these factors include sensor size, lens quality, and the organization of the pixels (for example, a monochrome camera without a Bayer filter mosaic has a higher resolution than a typical color camera). Many digital compact cameras are criticized for having excessive pixels, in that the sensors can be so small that the resolution of the sensor is greater than the lens could possibly deliver.

Types Of Digital Cameras?

Point-And-Shoot Models
Point-and-shoot cameras are the most inexpensive type of digital camera. These basic cameras can do anything that a simple film camera can do. Most will have 2 to 3.2MP resolution; a built-in flash; some sort of removable storage; and either a fixed focal length, nonzooming lens (in the ultracompact models) or a modest 3:1 to 5:1 zoom that provides a little magnification. Expect automatic exposure and no manual controls.

Intermediate Models
Intermediate digital cameras are the most widely used. As such, they have the best compromise of features to suit most consumer needs. Look for 3.2 to 5MP resolution; a 3:1 to 4:1 zoom lens; either CompactFlash or Secure Digital (SD) storage; and at least a few special options, such as different exposure modes, close-up focusing, or manual controls.

Advanced Consumer Models
If you’re willing to spend a few hundred dollars more than most point-and-shoot or intermediate models, you might be interested in digital cameras with some special features, extra resolution, or a longer zoom lens. These are 4 to 6MP models with 4:1 to 10:1 zooms (or better) and plenty of add-on accessories, such as wide-angle and telephoto attachments, filters, external flash units, and more. You can also find lots of optional exposure modes and customizable settings. Advanced consumer cameras usually require a session or two with the instruction manual to master all their capabilities, but they have few limitations.

Prosumer Models
Prosumer (falling between consumer and professional level) digital cameras are the models that photo buffs and even a few professional photographers favor. The avid photographer is willing to spend a few thousand dollars or more for these cameras in order to get the advanced features.

Want to rock out in the office and still get work done? I will show you how with a free productive MP3 player with superb sound and shortcuts!

At the office or work at home job typing away and you have to answer the phone or another task presents itself? This handy free MP3 player will let you pause in no time then play when your done.

I have a lot of friends working in the office or that work at home, especially work at home moms who are writers and virtual assistants and have to answer the phone.

The trouble they have at times is that they want to listen to their music while they work but want to cut down the time it takes to open their music
player, pause it, and then answer phone. Although this is not a long process some people want to be as productive as possible! So I found them a solution in a MP3 player called Xion that isn’t a resource hog, free, looks and sounds superb and importantly has shortcuts!

“Xion” is created by Cliff Cawley of R2 Studios“. So far it’s the best free MP3 player for the office or work at home job with its extensive use of shortcuts. As a bonus it even has the ability to be run portably on a USB drive or a USB drive that supports U3 as well! Lets get rocking and be productive shall we?

We are now going to configure the hot keys, so that we can be productive with our work at home / office job while rocking out! Right click on the Xion MP3 Player and select “Configure Xion“

Go to the “Global Hot Keys” where we will set our 2 most important buttons. Pause and Play.

Configuring Pause: Click on the Pause option, and click on “Assign Key.” In the field in front of “Assign” press “CTRL+ALT+[" or the keys of your choice. Now click assign.

Configuring Play: Click on the Play option, and click on "Assign Key." In the field in front of "Assign" press "CTRL+ALT+]” or the keys of your choice. Now click assign.

Now click close or you can setup the other keys if you would like.

Now the reason I chose those keys is because at your work at home / office job, while your typing away there is no way you have those keys setto anything else in most cases.

Words From Xion Creator Cliff Cawley of R2 Studios:

Xion is a high fidelity, easily skinnable, out of this world audio player. Xion features a new standard in skin support. Baffled by script syntax? Pulling your hair out over slicing up skin elements? Crying over spilt milk?

Xion’s approach to skinning will remove all scripting and slicing requirements that other skin systems have placed on users. Xion will directly read a .PSD file and using layer names, instantly create your skin.

Xion also supports direct loading from Zip files which allow you to package several .PSD files in the one package. This has the added benefit of being compressed and therefore consumes less disk space.

System Requirements:
Works on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003, and Microsoft Windows Vista.

What Kinds Of Work At Home Jobs Are There?
There are many types of work at home jobs available. Here are a few types:

Work At Home Doing Data Entry: Doing data entry is a vary profitable way to make money from home for people with good listening and typing skills. We are constantly being deluged with information. As such there is a lot of call for that information to be transcribed or otherwise entered into databases on a daily basis. The amount of data being input seems to grow exponentially. Companies are looking for employees who are competent in the area of transcription as well as those who simply are capable of processing this data. This provides an opportunity to make money from home since much of this work is now being done via telecommuting rather than being done on location.

Work At Home Doing Document Coding: Document coding is data entry, but a bit harder than the average data entry. Document Coders, also called Coders or Remote Coders, checks images of things like letters, e-mails, reports, et cetera and type things like names, dates, titles and other information from those images into the empty text fields. It sounds easy and sometimes is, but the rules change a lot. There are usually different rules for different projects, which means coders have to learn and memorize several different manuals - sometimes several in a day!

Work At Home As A Virtual Assistant: A Virtual Assistant (or simply VA), is an independent contractor providing administrative, technical, or sometimes creative assistance to clients

Work At Home Doing Legal Transcription: Legal transcriptionists create and edit documents from legal professional’s dictations. Although no formal training is needed to become a legal transcriptionist, it is important to have a solid understanding of legal terminology and to have good command of the English language.

Work At Home Doing Medical Transcription: Medical transcriptionists convert doctor recorded reports into typed reports. It is important for medical transcriptionists to be familiar with medical terms, as well as legal standards and requirements that apply to health records. In most cases, companies prefer to hire candidates with previous experience or have a diploma or associates degree in medical transcription.

Work At Home Doing Customer Service: This type of work at home job deals with answering phones, you will be a sort of call center whether dealing with booking tickets for airline customers to troubleshooting problems for customers.

Work At Home Doing Freelance Writing: There are plenty of types of writing that are in demand. Here are a few:

Web content writing - The range of topics for writing on the web are unlimited, as is the demand. All sites need good content. If you know anything about search engine optimization or are willing to learn, you may be able to command a higher rate writing keyword rich web content.

Medical writing - Pharmaceutical companies need technical writers who are very knowledgeable about medicine and about FDA requirements.

Technical writing - If you like computers and software, if you have an engineering background, or even if you like to take things apart and put them back together again, this could be a great field for you.

Marketing and advertising copywriting - If you can effectively pitch a product or service or can get consumers to take a desired action, such as make a purchase or sign up for something, you could be highly successful in this area.

Product catalog writer - Writing compelling product descriptions can lead to a great business or work from home job as well. Because so many stores now also have an online presence, and many of the smaller to medium sized online retailer operators are not terribly competent writers, the demand is out there for this type of writing.

Blogging - Again, the topics are unlimited. Blogs need frequently updated posts and posting blogs is relatively easy as most use a word-processor-like software tool to write, edit and manage blog posts. If you are web junkie, you could have fun doing this if you write about topics you’re passionate about.

Resume writer - Lots of demand here, as well, if you have the ability to craft great resumes or are willing to learn. Many job seekers don’t, that’s why your services would be in demand. You would be rewarded each time a client told you they landed a job in part due to the great resume you prepared for them.

Business plan writer - If you’re business savvy and can write clearly, you can also offer your services writing business plans.

Work At Home Doing Proofreading: Proofreading involves checking written materials for accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation and style. A variety of businesses use this for the preparation of books, magazines, newspapers, research papers, reports, contracts and other documents for clients.

Work At Home Doing Translation: If you are a native speaker of a non-English language and are experienced in translating one or many foreign languages, there are many opportunities available this type of job. Translation services ranges from documents to Web Sites.

Work At Home Doing Telemarketing: Selling, advertising, or market research to gain customer’s attention and to make sales as much as possible over the phone. This is one of the most popular outsourced work in the world as well as difficult and challenging.

Work At Home Doing Online Tutoring: Work for internet based companies that offer help, within a variety of subject areas, to students of all ages. Many online tutor positions offer flexible hours. Most companies require a college education, teaching experience, and/or knowledge in the subject area they will be tutoring.

Tired of trying to download from upload / download sites such as Rapidshare, Zshare, Megaupload, and more just to do other tasks on the computer and then come to find your download has timed out and you have to redo the process of downloading all over again?

Well I USED to have to deal with that problem but not anymore since I went and did due diligence for a solution! Today I’m happy to share this solution to increase your productivity!

The program is called “WorkPause” and its created by “Praven3 Software“. Unfortunately this wonderful tool isn’t free but the shareware time limit was fine enough for me.

WorkPause is a countdown timer application. It increases your productivity by alerting you when to do certain tasks without you worrying about keeping track of it. The key benefit this application has over others is that it’s a lightweight, non-resource hog and it has a sound you can set to alert you when time is almost up. WorkPause also freezes your screen so that have no choice but to notice its time to do your task. If you want a less intrusive way of being alerted it has a balloon tip that appears on your task bar.

Interesting productive ways I have used this program is while cooking I set the timer, so while I’m busy working I just relax and not worry about my masterpiece burning, LOL.

I also use it on another computer in my network to alert me when something on my other computer should be done such as a render of a video file. The most common use though was for downloading files from timed websites, especially with Rapidshare. With Rapidshare, as if the timer wasn’t enough we are greeted with a Mensa style CAPHTCHA! But lets stay on topic

With WorkPause catching the time to download from Rapidshare without it timing out has been a breeze & relief! I no longer use WorkPause for Rapidshare because I buy yearly accounts now

As we wind down to the instructions and video, wouldn’t you say $24.95 is cheap enough to keep your sanity and be productive at the same time?

Downloads Needed:

WorkPause

INSTRUCTIONS

Download and install WorkPause. While installing choose if you want it to run when your Windows starts or not.

Right click WorkPause in your taskbar and set your settings as shown in the video.

Words From WorkPause Creator Praven3 Software:

WorkPause is a rest reminder - a software program to remind you, when necessary, to break your work and have some rest. It has been proven that the regular rest breaks reduce the risk of developing RSI or other computer-related diseases, and help to avoid eyestrain.

In a few words, WorkPause works like this:

You can specify how much time you’d like to work between the breaks, when to have short or long breaks etc.

While you work, WorkPause sits in the system tray and shows you the time left until the next pause. It will monitor the intensity of your work and adjust the timing accordingly.

When it’s time for a rest break, WorkPause will let you know; it can use sound with a small message, or black out the screen to make sure you really stop working.

Of course, if you don’t like to break right now, you can always postpone or disable the alarms.

WorkPause is much more than just a break reminder. While you work, it will collect and show you statistics on how you use your computer. It will adjust the frequency and the timings of the breaks according to your tempo. And it’s fully configurable so you can easily adapt it to the way you work.

System Requirements:
Works on Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000.

What Is CAPTCHA?

A CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a challenge-response system test designed to differentiate humans from automated programs. A CAPTCHA differentiates between human and bot by setting some task that is easy for most humans to perform but is more difficult and time-consuming for current bots to complete.

CAPTCHAs are often used to stop bots and other automated programs from using blogs to affect search engine rankings, signing up for e-mail accounts to send out spam or take part in on-line polls.

Frequently, a CAPTCHA features an image file of slightly distorted alphanumeric characters. A human can usually read the characters in the image without too much difficulty. A bot program is able to recognize that the content contains an image , but it has no idea what the image is. To accommodate the visually-impaired, some CAPTCHAs use audio files. In such a system, the human listens to a series of letters or short words and types what he hears to prove he is not a bot.

What you see above is an example of a CAPTCHA program called E-Z Gimpy. Although it is one of the most commonly used CAPTCHAs, it is also the easiest to crack by using a dictionary attack. The full edition of GIMPY is considered to be more secure. It randomly selects seven words from a dictionary and then presents them, somewhat distorted, in an image. The user is asked to type three of the words that appear in the image.

Another test, “Pix,” presents the user with six images of a single subject, such as babies or horses, and asks them to define the subject of the pictures. Math CAPTCHAs are very popular on blog software. A Math CAPTCHA uses numbers instead of letters and asks the human to solve a simple mathematical calculation (4 +3 =) and record the answer.

Once a user has completed a particular CAPTCHA challenge satisfactorily, he is granted access. His address or login information may be added to a whitelist so that he is not asked to take the test on his next visit.

Maxthon

Avant browser

What Is A Web Browser?
Web browsers are basically software programs that allow you to search for and view various kinds of information on the Web, such as web sites, video, audio, etc.

It enables a user to display and interact with text, images, videos, music, games and other information typically located on a Web page at a website on the World Wide Web or a local area network. Text and images on a Web page can contain hyperlinks to other Web pages at the same or different website. Web browsers allow a user to quickly and easily access information provided on many Web pages at many websites by traversing these links. Web browsers format HTML information for display, so the appearance of a Web page may differ between browsers.

Some of the Web browsers currently available for personal computers include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Netscape, Opera, Avant Browser, Konqueror, Google Chrome, Flock, Arachne, Epiphany, and K-Meleon.

Web browsers are the most commonly used type of HTTP user agent. Although browsers are typically used to access the World Wide Web, they can also be used to access information provided by Web servers in private networks or content in file systems.

If your MP3 player doesn’t support bookmarks, its very time consuming to fast forward or rewind to a favorite part or to where you remember you last left off listening to your podcast. Imagine in a 1 hour 30 minute podcast, your into it 50 minutes then you want to rewind back 20 minutes, you will not hear the end of it from your aching thumb!

By splitting the podcasts you can jump between tracks and then fast forward or rewind for a few seconds to where you want to go!

A bonus with this method is if you want to split podcasts to listen to in your car! You can split the tracks into 79 minute increments and burn the CD’s onto some high speed CD-RW’s if your burner supports them This way you have podcasts on the go and don’t waste CD’s :).

The program to help us with the podcast splitting is mp3DirectCut. Its made by Martin Pesch and its small and freeware! The interface can be daunting but don’t worry, my video tutorial will guide you through!

Downloads Needed:

mp3DirectCut

INSTRUCTIONS

Download and Install mp3DirectCut.

Run mp3DirectCut and choose your language.

Take your podcast you want to split and drag it into mp3DirectCut.

In the menu select Special>Auto Cue> Now select the amount of minutes for each split podcast, for example if you want 5 minutes each split mp3, then input: 5:00; Now select OK. Now you should see separated rectangular lines in the graph that represents your split podcast into 5 minute increments.

Now select File>Save Split> Now you can type in how you want your files to be named, keep in mind the symbols that show things such as track numbers for the podcasts. For example I input: %N-trk, the %N is the symbol for track number.%N -Trk will name and number the split podcasts as 01-trk.mp3, 02-trk.mp3, and so forth in succession until all the split mp3s are created.

Now you can keep the folder to save to as is, or you can create a folder to save the split podcasts into. Then select OK.

What I do is create a folder with the podcast name, then put all the split podcasts in that folder and then drag to my MP3 player.

Why Should I Split My Podcasts?

If your MP3 player doesn’t support bookmarks, its more time consuming to fast forward or rewind to where you last left off listening to your podcast, especially of your were doing something not paying attention to the podcast and want to go back to where you remember you left off from.

If you want to fast forward or rewind to a part of your podcast you want to listen to again, its time consuming to hold those buttons down for a LONG period of time, with the podcast split up its easier to jump tracks to a specific part and then rewind or fast forward less time to find where you were last at.

To play a podcast in your car on CD if it doesn’t support mp3 CD’s or input from your MP3 player such as an Apple Ipod.

What Is A Podcast?

A podcast is a series of audio or video digital-media files which is distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds such as RSS, to portable media players and personal computers. Though the same content may also be made available by direct download or streaming, a podcast is distinguished from other digital-media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added. In laymen terms it’s a audio talkshow.

Like the term broadcast, podcast can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated; the latter is also called podcasting. The host or author of a podcast is often called a podcaster.

The term is a mashup of the words “iPod” and “broadcast”,the Apple iPod being the brand of portable media player for which the first podcasting scripts were developed. Such scripts allow podcasts to be automatically transferred from a personal computer to a mobile device after they are downloaded. As more devices other than iPods became able to synchronize with podcast feeds, the term was redefined by some parties as a backronym for “Personal On Demand broadCASTING“.

What Is A MP3?
MP3 is a compressed audio format that allows for smaller file sizes with similar sound quality to PCM WAV format, the format found on normal music CDs you would buy in a store. Thompson and Fraunhofer helped develop the coding algorithm, or system of rules and processes, that encoded audio to this incredible format.

Why Is MP3 So Popular?
The popularity of MP3 comes from its practical uses. Music tracks in WAV format are extremely large in file size, averaging around 50MB in size. Since it is so large, it is not practical to send WAV files through email or offer them for download on the Internet. MP3, however, compresses WAV audio on average of 10 to 12 times smaller than the original size. The result is audio tracks around 3 to 4 MB in size, perfect for downloading and sending through the Internet. Thus, custom MP3 format CDs can be created with 10 to 12 times the amount of tracks of a normal 12-15 track audio CD, producing CDs with over 100 tracks easily. The format is also popular for turning your PC into a jukebox of hundreds or thousands of songs or loading them into a portable mp3 player and taking your music collection wherever you want.

Why Should I Keep Up With My Available Hard Drive Space?

Burning CD’s and DVD’s requires you to have ample space on your hard drive or else it can have failed burns.

Low hard drive space can have your computer moving very sluggish, making your personal computing horrible and miserable!

Microsoft Windows Swap file takes up a lot of space usually as it expands. A swap file is a space on a hard drive used as the virtual memory extension of a computer’s real memory (RAM). Having a swap file allows your Microsoft Windows to pretend that you have more RAM than you actually do. The least recently used files in RAM can be “swapped out” to your hard disk until they are needed later so that new files can be “swapped in” to RAM.

What Is A Gigabyte?
A Gigabyte is approximately 1,024 Megabytes. A Gigabyte is a very common term used these days when referring to disk space or drive storage. 1 Gigabyte of data is almost twice the amount of data that a CD-ROM can hold. But it’s about one thousand times the capacity of a 3-1/2 floppy disk. 1 Gigabyte could hold the contents of about 10 yards of books on a shelf. 100 Gigabytes could hold the entire library floor of academic journals.

What Is A Hard Drive?
A hard disk drive (HDD), commonly referred to as a hard drive, hard disk, or fixed disk drive, is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Strictly speaking, “drive” refers to a device distinct from its medium, such as a tape drive and its tape, or a floppy disk drive and its floppy disk. Early hard drives had removable media; however, an HDD today is typically a sealed unit (except for a filtered vent hole to equalize air pressure) with fixed media.

Originally, the term “hard” was temporary slang, substituting “hard” for “rigid”, before these drives had an established and universally-agreed-upon name. A hard drive is a rigid-disk drive although it is rarely referred to as such. By way of comparison, a floppy drive (more formally, a diskette drive) has a disc that is flexible. Some time ago, IBM’s internal company term for a hard drive was “file”.

Hard drives (introduced in 1956 as data storage for an IBM accounting computer) were originally developed for use with general purpose computers.

In the 21st century, applications for hard drives have expanded to include digital video recorders, digital audio players, personal digital assistants, digital cameras and video game consoles.

In 2005 the first mobile phones to include hard drives were introduced by Samsung and Nokia. The need for large-scale, reliable storage, independent of a particular device, led to the introduction of configurations such as RAID arrays, network attached storage (NAS) systems and storage area network (SAN) systems that provide efficient and reliable access to large volumes of data. Note that although not immediately recognizable as a computer, all the aforementioned applications are actually embedded computing devices of some sort.

What Is A Solid State Hard Drive?
A new phenomenon in hard drive technology. A solid-state drive (SSD) is a data storage device that uses solid-state memory to store persistent data. Unlike flash-based memory cards and USB flash drives, a SSD emulates a hard disk drive interface, thus easily replacing it in most applications. An SSD using SRAM or DRAM (instead of flash memory) is often called a RAM-drive.

The original usage of the term solid-state (from solid-state physics) refers to the use of semiconductor devices rather than electron tubes, but has in this context been adopted to distinguish solid-state electronics from electromechanical devices as well. With no moving parts, solid-state drives are inherently less fragile than hard disks and therefore also silent (unless a cooling fan is used); as there are no mechanical delays, they usually enjoy low access time and latency.

SSDs have begun to appear in laptops, although they are at present substantially more expensive per unit of capacity than hard drives.
