INSTRUCTIONS
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Create a new document and make sure its blank. Fill in the information and formatting that you want to be in your Microsoft Word template.
- Save the document with the filename of your choice but make sure it is saved as a “document
template” by selecting it under “save as type“, this is crucial! The directory where the Microsoft Word file will be saved will be in your user templates directory folder. - To use your newly created template or any template for that matter, click on “file>new“; then under templates choose “on my computer“; then under the general tab, choose click your Microsoft Word template you want to use. Now on the right hand side under “Create New” choose “Document” then click OK.

I created a new template with various Quick Styles AND set up custom colors to go with them. Works fine on my PC when I use the template. BUT others who use the same template do NOT get the new custom color. Seems only to be stored in my personal normal.dotm. Word 2007 does not seem to store custom colors in the template. Any ideas.
@Tony L: I haven’t used Quick Styles so I’m not sure what the problem could be. Thanks for feedback
